Run Your Own Pace!
Hey friends! Coach Rhandi checking in with a few thoughts that have been rolling around in my head. Instagram is an amazing motivator and inspiration machine (and I love it) but I wanted to throw out a reminder to be careful with the comparison trap- especially when it comes to numbers and our own individual training. It’s so important to run YOUR paces and to follow through with your prescribed workout.
It’s easy to look at someone with maybe your time goals and want to do just what they are doing but we need to take a step back and trust the process. When we quickly view someone’s data, frequently it’s not what we think at first glance. I showed my workout totals today as an example. What you may see is that I ran 12 miles at a 7:44 pace but what you don’t see is that my fastest mile was a 6:30 at the end of my tempo run or that my slowest mile was a 10:30 running up a steep trail. Each of my 12 miles had a plan and a purpose. When we go into our workouts and understand why exactly we are running slow, medium, fast, up, down, on trails, roads, treadmills, etc. I think it is a lot easier to be proud and present in the moment you are in. Be so DANG PROUD of any and every run, jump, lift, squat or even walk you get in. You are making deposits and building your fitness. Head up, eyes on the prize, you’ve got this!
