Herbal Chai Latte (Dairy Free)
Forget the long lines and a $5 at Starbucks. This delicious herbal chai latte treat tastes like heaven, is dairy free, low sugar and has only 50 calories. It takes 5 minutes to make a has 5 ingredients If you love to carry your hot drink around with you, double the recipe and put it in a to go cup and you are in business. Also, it’s a great night cap since it’s herbal. Alternatively, use a caffeinated chai tea bag if you need a morning pick-me-up.
Heaven in a Cup (Healthy Herbal Chai Latte)
Ingredients
1 Stash Red Herbal Chai Tea Bag (other varieties work, just use a good quality tea bag)
2-3 Tablespoons French Vanilla coconut milk creamer (try to find a cleaner version, I love the SO Delicious brand)
Dash of stevia
Dash of cinnamon
Coconut Whipped Cream (you can buy at Trader Joes (pictured here, most affordable) or another supermarket with healthier options- Sprouts, Whole Foods, etc.
Directions
Place tea bag in empty tea/coffee mug, pour very hot water over tea bag ( I use a stove top kettle, or you can microwave water for 2 minutes). Steep tea for a full 5 minutes, bobbing bag up and down for about the first 30 seconds.
After 5 minutes, gently squeeze tea bag over water and discard tea bag. Add creamer, stevia and cinnamon, stir or use a hand froth (can buy for $10 on amazon) to make extra creamy. Top with a serving or 2 of coconut whipped cream if desired.
