Perfectly Seasoned Turkey Taco Meat
This simple recipe is one of my most requested. It’s flavorful, clean and takes 10 minutes to throw together. Oftentimes when we have family or friends over, I opt for a simple taco/burrito bar and this is usually my go-to meat. Skip the prepackaged crud with all of the additives and bonus, this tastes much better too. I use this base meat for many meals and it’s also great for meal prep bowls of all kinds. You can use this for 1-3 dinners or meal prep lunch bowls for all week. When you read the ingredients bellow you are going to doubt me due to the amount of seasonings but don’t, I promise it’s flavorful and delicious and just right.
Perfectly Seasoned Turkey Taco Meat
Ingreidents
3 pound package ground turkey
1 small can mild diced green chilies
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons cumin
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoon schili powder
2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoons salt ( I use redmond real salt)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
**Optional- a couple dashes of your favorite hot sauce.
Directions
In a large skillet heat olive oil on medium heat, add green chillies and saute for 2 minutes stirring constantly, add turkey meat and all of the seasonings. Combine well until the meat is evenly coated with seasonings, cook on medium heat stirring and break-in apart meat regularly until meat is cooked through. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary (possibly more salt and pepper but likely not). If you want it spicy now would be the time to taste it first and add a few dashes if you would like. I typically leave it on the side to please everyone and then those who like it extra spicy can go to town on their own.
